Steve joined PMSM in 1974 and currently serves as Principal. Steve's main responsibilities, aside from serving as Principal in Charge on a number of projects, include mentoring technical staff, directing all IT efforts, and writing specifications. Widely known for his "just-do-it" attitude, Steve actively encourages his project teams to investigate alternatives and create new approaches to solving problems for the client.

Steve has over 30 years of experience in the field of architecture with a special focus on governmental and institutional facilities. Steve's background is in construction and his expertise lies in code compliance reviews, constructability reviews, quality control reviews, construction administration, and cost estimating. He also has extensive experience in guiding complex projects through regulatory approval processes particularly relative to accessibility and life-safety considerations. Steve is a professional member of the International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO) and is well versed in code and design issues including Title 24, OSHPD, and DSA.

Steve volunteers his time working in the community. He is actively involved in the Animal Shelter Assistance Program (ASAP) that finds homes for cats and kittens as well as the Santa Barbara City College Foundation. Steve has also served as past Chair of the County Board of Architectural Review and past President of the AIA Santa Barbara Chapter.
